Beginning Anew, LLC

Beginning Anew, LLC began one winter afternoon in 2004 when two childhood friends who were both psychotherapists, met in a diner to discuss some professional matters. The one psychotherapist was sharing about her disappointment over the group psychotherapy practice she recently joined closing abruptly.  The other psychotherapist empathizing with her friend's upset and feeling the upset of those abandoned clients, suggested that they form their own group practice. This had always been a long term dream of theirs but suddenly the dream took on a real purpose and urgency.  The excitement that afternoon was palpable. This was the beginning of Beginning Anew, LLC.

Who We Are

Leah Yau, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I earned my Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University. I have a diverse background working in employee assistance, university hospital mental health, discharge planning, psychiatric inpatient, substance abuse treatment and private practice. I approach my work with a strength-based cognitive behavioral perspective. I am a long time member of the National Association of Social Workers.
